Wednesday

Caught 'Hoop Dreams' on ESPN Classic recently. Besides being the inspiration for the legendary cult classic 'Ploop Dreams' it ranks in my top 5 movies. I'm gonna have to buy the DVD release. Apparently, when Jordan was mucking things up in Washington he had William Gates come in for try-outs.. but he broke his foot. I recommend re-watching it and checking out the players that actually DID make it to the NBA.

In other news, we drove out to the middle of the Nevada Desert to check out some family property. Desolation and beauty. I love Nevada. Stayed the night in Reno, won some $, then woke up and drove to the CalNeva - Sinatra's old casino. That place is great and standing in the old empty showroom gave us both chills. Plus, I won $100 on the Wheel of Fortune slots - thanks Frank.

Post for BS

OK, so I haven't posted anything lately. I guess I could claim to have been really busy.

Installed seti@home last night. When it first came out years ago I had it running - thought i'd join the cause again. There's all sorts of distributed projects now running through BOINC. Good stuff.

Just watched the 20th anniversary TRON. That movie still holds up. Instead of using CGI to make things look "real" they crafted a look and nailed it.

On Season 2/Disc 3 of Carnivale. That show just kept getting better as it went along. Figures it was cancelled.

That's all.
