Bikes

I was up in Tahoe a couple weeks ago and we rented Mountain bikes and rode the Powerline Trail. It's been years since I did any single track riding and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I'm full on back into biking now.

I got home and immediately took my old Marin- Palisades Trail in to the shop for a tune up and new tubes. I've been out in the park the past few days and it's great. The bike is the same one Chris B. and I went up to Madison to buy. It's still a champ although the bike I rented in Tahoe really has me itching for full suspension. It was a Jamis - Dakar - I'm not sure if it was this exact model but close enough. It was a great bike and now I want one.

Any bike suggestions?

And another thing...

If you are standing next to me at the urinal at work, please don't talk to me. Just....don't.

Bought a new snowboard last week. It's going to kill my old piece of crap:

Going to this tonight:
Biafra Five-O

My friends Triclops! are playing and our new bass player is playing guitar in Jello's new band. Should be a fun time... Report to follow...

more more

If you are standing in the front of a crowded elevator and it stops on a floor that is not yours, step off and let people out. Then get back on. Don't just stand there blocking the exit. Jackass.

Images of our junk in space.

Although I don't like that it's completely Earth-centric, I do like the new Doctor Who series. Just spent all weekend watching season 3 and the beginning of 4. I also just got the first disc of Blake's 7 which I'm going to start once I'm caught up. Anyone remember The Third Eye? Creepy show that was on Nickelodeon. It's next on the list.

More.

Why do people need to wear their backpacks on crowded buses? Knocking into me and taking up space.. Douchebags. Take it off and hold it down by your legs. Why is this concept so hard for people to understand?

If you have a surround set up at your home get The Phantom Menace and play the entire Pod Race scene with the video turned off. Get drunk, sit in the sweet spot and crank it.

Vegas was crazy, summed up by my parting comment to my friend as i was off to the airport: "I shouldn't have had that last liquid cocaine shot with those hookers at 7am."

Lately I've been obsessed with the Sloan Great Wall. The largest known structure in the Universe...although there's debate because it's not gravitationally bound together. Whatever, it's fucking big. I like this map of distances from Earth (if it looks really small just click on the image). Sloan Great Wall is near the top.

No Title

I barely post on this thing. Here's what's new....

Going to Vegas tomorrow for the weekend. With all the B.S. I've been dealing with over the past 3 months it's going to be nice to stand at the Craps table for 48 hours straight and get extremely loaded. I played a couple weeks ago in Tahoe and got killed. It's time to take some back. Report to follow next week.

Went to see Meshuggah last night. They were opening for Ministry. Meshuggah was heavy as shit and totally owned it. Ministry came on and sounded like some wussy bar rock band in comparison. I left after 3 songs.

Just started reading "The Book of Nothing: Vacuums, Voids, and the Latest Ideas About the Origins of the Universe". As with the Vegas trip, the concept of Nothing seems to fit in well with my life right now. * I know, I know, Vegas and Nothing in the same sentence is probably a bad idea *

Snowboarding season is done and among the so-so days I got in 2 epic days of magnificent powder. It really doesn't get much better and next season I'm going up to Canada for some Heli-boarding at Whistler-Blackcomb. Every once in awhile I think about moving back home but can't imagine living that far away from real mountains to board on. Plus, Tahoe has casinos - see above.

That's it.

Check out the way it rights itself after being kicked and slipping on the ice.

RIP Gary Gygax

Most of my youth was consumed by his game. Check out this memorial from D&D online.
